Shipping fees are USPS standard rates.
We have chosen USPS to handle your packages because they come to your door and our door already. Just think of it as your green and healthy goods carpooling!
There is a good chance your order arrives with re-used boxes and packing materials. If our supply of used boxes runs out, then your order arrives with environmentally friendly boxes provided by USPS that are certified Cradle to Cradle.* If we are out of used packing materials, then your order arrives with discarded newsprint from our local newspaper. GreenSource uses earth friendly packing tape (paper not plastic) and slips (100% recycled paper). We are committed to re-using and reducing as much as possible and encourage you to do the same. We absolutely recycle and hope you do, too. If you are not able to reuse the packing peanuts, perhaps your local shipping facilities will take them. You can also try offering them on your area’s freecycle (http://www.freecycle.org/). That is where we found some of ours.
We are new and small. Your orders will be processed promptly all hours of the day all days of the week. All orders received by 6:30 a.m. Standard Pacific Time on days the postal service operates will be mailed that day. If your order can not be mailed on the day it is placed (because the postal carrier has already been here usually around 10 a.m.), then it will be mailed on the next USPS business day including Saturdays.
If standard shipping will not reach you fast enough, make a special note when checking out to request overnight shipping. If international shipping is needed, make a special request when checking out. Special shipping needs such as these will be charged a $5.00 handling fee in addition to the actual shipping fee charged by the carrier.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order or packages, please contact us. It is our intent to take great care of our Earth and of YOU.
*According to USPS, “the Postal Service is the first mailing or shipping company to achieve Cradle to CradleSM certification for our packaging. It’s recyclable, of course. But it’s so much more than that. This is environmental “big picture” certification. It starts at the design stage, considers energy and water use through manufacturing, and ends with a product that can be safely recycled. Cradle to CradleSM certification comes from McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC).
